Finding a hotel that suits your budget comes easy when you take into consideration the activities that you will be busy with, or what you want to achieve during your stay. If being extremely pampered and totally worry-free comes last on your list, then you’re welcome to try a 3-star hotel. This is not to say that 3-star hotels do not offer any degree of comfort or luxury; it just seems impractical to be paying for lavish amenities when you won’t have the chance to take advantage of them.

If you’re a business traveler, who intends to be primarily engaged in, well, business matters, and not that concerned with having a fun and relaxing time, then a 3-star hotel with provisions and facilities that are useful for conferences and business correspondence would be a good recommendation. Furthermore, the affordable price is more attractive if you intend to keep the business expenses low. Also, an in-house restaurant, bar or lounge eliminates the need to go elsewhere for lunch or dinner meetings, and thus saves you time that you can spend preparing for presentations instead.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the tourist spectrum, a weekend traveler who has a planned itinerary can find good value in a 3-star hotel that is within minutes of a popular tourist destination, such as Paris or Amsterdam. Just because you’re visiting a top tourist spot doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot on accommodations. For instance, three star hotels like the Hotel Windsor Opera in Paris (only over a kilometer away from the city center) even offers services such as a business center facility, room service, and a fitness center, with rates that are at least about fifty percent lower than the best hotels located in the heart of the city.

While 3-star hotels may be expected to offer more than basic accommodations, it may be best to assess them and make a choice according to your expectations and needs. For instance, you may deem access to a fitness center more important than room service, or prefer Internet access and a business center to availability of a swimming pool. Whatever you prefer, be reassured that you can consult with an online guide and make sure to ask the right questions that will ultimately lead to a pleasant 3-star hotel experience.

Here are other 3-star hotels that may be of interest: the Hotel Sylter Hof in Berlin, which prides itself as a good location for business functions, and is immediately accessible to the city’s major airports; the Hotel Diplomatic in Rome, which is within close range of the Spanish Steps and the Vatican, and boasts of a fitness center, a swimming pool, and impeccable service; the Kensington Close Hotel and Healthy Spa in London, which offers an indoor swimming pool, beauty treatments, a health and fitness club, and three restaurants; and the Circus Circus Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, which is a family oriented hotel that offers live circus act performances and boasts of the Grand Slam Canyon theme park.

While the mention of scuba diving generally brings to mind the image of some exotic tropical dive locale, the United Kingdom has a number of exciting dive spots just waiting to be explored by divers like you. If you have no issues with cold water diving, the following destinations will leave you breathless. Or something like that…

One of the best dive sites in the U.K. is located in Scotland, in the Sound of Mull. The Sound of Mull is located between the Isle of Mull and the Morven Peninsula. It is an extremely popular destination for U.K. divers because it offers an unparalleled range of diving in very reasonable conditions. The area is cursed with bad weather, which has resulted in countless shipwrecks over the years. Most dives in the area are launched from Tobermory, Lochaline, or Oban. The Hispania is, by far, one of the most popular wrecks in the area, due to the fact that it is still relatively intact and awash in marine life. It is shallow enough to get a good long dive, and visibility is generally very good.

Another phenomenal dive spot is located on the south coast of England, in the waters of Sussex. The Alaunia, a steamship sunk by a German mine in 1916, is one of the more popular diving destinations on the south coast. Although the wreck is considerably broken up, there are still significant parts of the ship left intact. Be on the lookout for a series of portholes to help navigate the site. If you can manage to find the bridge area, you will undoubtedly be pleased to find the anchor still hanging from its chain. The size of the wreck is overwhelming to some degree, and it would take a few separate dives to explore the entire ship. Shoals of bib, spider crabs, and massive lobsters are sure to keep you entertained. See if you can spot a dead man’s fingers while you are down there.

Another extremely popular dive is located near Plymouth, where the wreck of the steamship Maine found its final resting place. It can be found approximately a mile off Bolt Head. It was highly noticeable for a number of years, as the masts of the ship broke the surface of the water. The wreck has since been cleared of its mast, with most of the debris swept to its port side. It rests in water that is approximately 30 meters deep. The ship was torpedoed in March of 1917 and, after a noble rescue effort, came to rest in waters within easy reach from Salcombe. While this would be an amazing exploration for any diver, it is not recommended for novice divers due to the strong current. There is a good representation of undersea life, and this destination is sure please anyone who visits.

Here’s a really simple way to save on beach vacation travel. We are going to show you 3 ways to save you some bucks when booking your next beach vacation. The beach is an incredible experience. No matter whether you’ve traveled to far western Australia or taken a quick weekend trip to the Jersey Shore, barring rain, the beach is usually a really enjoyable experience. We’ve taken trips all over the world we’ve missed giant opportunities of money savings that were seemingly all around us if we had just taken the time to do a little extra research. Well, you are in luck. The travel research has been done for you, all you have to do is be willing to keep reading. Before you know it, you’ll be taking the beach vacation of your life, for a steeply discounted price. Here we go:

1) Buy it used. Well, not really used: more like discounted (or unused actually). Sometimes, people can put their vacation opportunities up at real discounts. Did you know that there are all sorts of people out there who own time shares but can’t use them for various reasons? Maybe the season isn’t right, or they can’t seem to get the flight that they need. Ebay has a thriving market for timeshare opportunities. A lot of the listings are permanent (e.g. people looking for others to buy their times shares out completely), but sometimes people are just looking to monetize a weeks worth of timeshare that they can’t seem to use themselves. Their loss can be your opportunity. Ebay is an auction, and the highest price wins usually.

2) Compare everything. Guess what? Expedia and Orbitz seem like they are juggernauts of internet travel and they control a lot of the market. BUT, they don’t have every vendor available. A lot of the discount airlines like SouthWest and JetBlue don’t use either of these massive companies and you can only get their deals by going directly to their website. Don’t’ tell anyone, but from what we’ve heard JetBlue is supposed to have really nice seats and monitors on new planes with really good prices. We haven’t used JetBlue ourselves yet, but it’s supposed be really good (especially at delivering good value on Northeast to Florida routes). That tip alone could save you some bucks while getting you a really nice flight.

3) The first 2 points are perfectly valid in any trip planning but almost worthless when you consider that you might have to shell out a lot more bucks for destinations abroad. There is a beautiful beach state located not too far from anyone East of the Mississippi. That’s right. Florida. Florida is back and it’s beaches are still fantastic. Florida is still beautiful. There has been a lot of development of Florida during the last 50 years, but Florida is still a massive state with plenty of undiscovered beaches. The state of Florida can be great if you know where to look. It’s pretty nice. Trust us….the undiscovered spots of Florida can really be something else. However, they are becoming more and more difficult to find as thousands of people move to Florida every month.

The short answer is “It can offer you anything and everything”, but surely you want to know more ?

Where is Lanzarote ? - It is located on the eastern side of the Canary Islands and is a mere 13 miles wide and 40 miles long, so you can travel to each and every part of the island and spend the whole day not having to worry about lengthy journeys to and from excursions and one of the most appealing aspects is the climate as it offers warm temperatures and scarce rains all year around, turning it into a great place for those who wish to spend time at the beach and enjoy as many outdoor activities as possible.

Whether you are in to Land, Sea or Air sports there is plenty of everything here :

Cycling, Go-Karting, Golf, Horse-riding, Jeep Safari, Quad-Bike Safari, Rancho Texas & The Tropical Park

Boat Cruises, Catamaran, Fishing, Submarine or perhaps you just want to go to an aquapark

Flight Tours, Hand-Gliding & Parasailing

If you prefer the more cultural aspects of a location, then you have to come to ‘heaven’. This side of Lanzarote is best summed by the mere mention of one mans name - Cesar Manrique, a man whose influence can be seen all over the island at places like Castillo de San Jose, Ceuva de los Verdes, Fundacion Manrique, Jameous Del Aqua, Jardin De Cactus, Mirador Del Rio, Museo Campesino and the fantasic Timanfaya (”Fire Mountain”) and in future articles I will write about each of these.

Lanzarote is the only place in the world where you have your lunch in a cafeteria that is built on top of an active volcano, where the heat to cook your food comes from the volcano itself ?

- See my article 21 on Timafaya

and where else can you go deep into a cavern in the middle of nowhere and find a huge ampitheatre used for live concerts, aplace that doubles as a nightclub two evening a week ?

- See my article 22 on the Northern Attractions

If you want a great beach, then again Lanzarote has one to compare with the very best.

- See my article 11 on Yaiza Beaches and Punta de Papagayo

I recently went to my first press conference in Toronto’s hip, recently renovated Distillery District, where the new “brand” of Toronto was unveiled. Toronto’s Brading Project was the culmination of a 13-month process with over 4,500 local survey responses and more than 230 in-depth interviews and roundtable discussions with leaders in the leisure and customer travel and convention business and other experts.

The outcome of all these consultations is Toronto’s new brand: Toronto Unlimited, which is intended to express Toronto’s unlimited opportunities, whether they be in film, biotechnology, meetings, conventions or tourism. Our mayor, David Miller, announced that “Toronto is a financial and cultural leader” and competes with such international renowned cities as Chicago, Milan and Barcelona. I learned that upcoming major investments in arts and culture include a new home for the Toronto International Film Festival; renovations and additions to the Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario; and construction of the Four Seasons Performing Arts Centre, the new home of the National Ballet of Canada and the Canadian Opera Company.

The creation of the new brand of Toronto went hand in hand with the development of a new set of logos, that also encompass stylized images of musical notes, a camera, balloons, a knife and fork, and a paintbrush, images that symbolize the great diversity of entertainment and culture Toronto has to offer.

The echo in the press, on talk radio and other interactive media has been mixed, I have heard comments that Toronto Unlimited is “too bland”, “too corporate”, and the logos are not everybody’s cup of tea. But when I think about it, my own personal experience has been that Toronto is a city that provides a great deal of opportunity, both as far as entertainment and leisure is concerned, as well as business opportunities, and the opportunity to truly become oneself, given Toronto’s open-minded, tolerant environment.

Taking myself as an example, I came from a small rural town in Europe, barely at the age of 20, was able to complete 2 university degrees part-time in Toronto, build a full-time business with several employees that has now been in existence for 15 years, and as of last year, I have also ventured forth into the sphere of Internet publishing.

So I would say, this Toronto environment has been very successful for me, and the implication of “unlimited opportunity” is really not that far-fetched. From my own experience, Toronto provides a great mix of entrepreneurial spirit combined with a strong social conscience, which in my opinion is a tough combination to achieve, particularly when you throw in the hundreds of ethnic groups and thousands of new immigrants that come to Toronto every year. Overall I’d say the city has managed these challenges fairly well and I am proud to be part of this multicultural mix in my new home town.

Of course Toronto is not only a good place for entrepreneurs and immigrants, it’s also a pretty fun place. Take this weekend for example. This past weekend alone there were 9 major entertainment events going on:
- The Celebrate Toronto Street Festival - Toronto’s outdoor festival with music, food, performing arts and audience participation that takes place on 4 major intersections along Yonge Street
- Afrofest, a festival of African music and dance
- Beats, Breaks & Culture: Toronto’s Electronic Music Festival
- The Corso Italia Toronto Fiesta - Italian food and culture on St. Clair Avenue
- The Molson Indy, one of the most popular races with the Champ Car World Series
- The Ontario Place Canada Dry Festival of Fireworks - the Grand Finale
- The Taste of Lawrence Festival - food and entertainment for the whole family
- The Fringe of Toronto Theatre Festival - hosting over 750 artists from Canada and the world in 134 productions, and
- The Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition - featuring established artists, undiscovered talents and innovative students in traditional and experimental art forms.

When I read the line-up of events this weekend I was astounded at the breadth of events offered on one weekend, and time is simply too short to sample them all. But my husband and I decided to hop on the bike and check out the Celebrate Toronto Street Festival. We got going around noon yesterday and checked out the Yonge and Eglinton location first. The festival had just started and the crowd was still a little thin. A band was playing on the Midtown Stage, there were a number of food stands, Mr. Bunk was entertaining the crowd with his clowning, marionettes and juggling and there was a midway with a number of rides, entertaining the crowd.

We then headed south to the St. Clair location of the Street Festival. Riding our bikes south on Yonge Street was great fun. There was very little traffic, people had seemed to heed the traffic warnings and refrained from bringing their cars into the downtown core. Since the terrain slopes noticeable downwards as you approach the lake, the ride was a breeze and with very little traffic we didn’t have to worry about getting cut off by motorists. At St. Clair we stopped to watch the tango lessons that pulled in some keen participants from the crowd.

On Dundas Square, at Yonge and Dundas, across from the Eaton Centre, there was another big stage and an African band Fojeba was playing hot African rhythms. Further south Professor Olaf Stevenson was using his chest of drawers, using everyday objects and even vegetables, to entertain the crowd. We headed further south, in search of some comfortable outdoor seating and some food and we ended up at Harbourfront, Toronto’s waterfront entertainment district. We plunked ourselves down on an outside bench where we had a beautiful view of downtown Toronto’s skyscrapers.

Once refreshed we started our trip home and headed eastwards. After the hustble and bustle of downtown I stopped off at one of my favourite places: Toronto’s Eastern Beaches. A major beach volleyball tournament was going on and thousands of people were sunbathing, pick-nicking, swimming (the water quality of our beaches has improved substantially so people can swim in the water again), rollerblading, biking, walking their dogs. The Beaches are just a zoo on a beautiful Saturday or Sunday afternoon, and it’s a perfect spot for people watching. One of the areas that often draws a crowd is a place where there are numerous large loose stones that people assemble into stone sculptures, or “inukshuks” as these sculptures are called by Native People. A young couple was going at it and they were balancing large odd-shaped stones precariously on top of one another, drawing an admiring crowd.

The 2 young people later pulled out a sign saying that they were making a living from building the stone sculptures, and indeed a few appreciating members of the crowd made some monetary contributions. While I was watching them, people sat down beside me on the bench, and it’s just a normal every-day occurrence in Toronto to hear French, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi or Russian right around you. After a snooze on the bench by the water I headed further eastwards to a much quieter area of the Beaches and I strengthened myself before having to ride up the steep hill from the Beaches to our neighbourhood. I briefly sat on another bench and admired all the activities on the beach and then got on my bike to go home.

Although I sometimes still miss the mountains, (not surprising, coming from someone who’s grown up in the Alps), I do love Toronto’s waterfront, and it’s fabulous being located on one of the Great Lakes. When I get to the Beaches, it’s almost like being on an ocean, since you can’t see the shoreline on the New York State side. It’s such a relaxing, leisure-oriented place and it’s perfect for people-watching. The whole neighbourhood has such a relaxed atmosphere to it, with the ecclectic shops and restaurants on Queen Street, that I call it “my little California”.

By the waterfront itself, on any given day you could be watching beach volleyball players, kite-flyers, tennis players at the Kew Gardens Tennis Club, Lacrosse or occasionally even championship rowers, practicing their strokes. Recently I did a 50 km ride on my bike and I went all the way west past Harbourfront, to the CNE grounds, admiring the sailboat harbours, going as far west as the Sunnyside Beach Pavillon on Toronto’s Western Beaches. I find the waterfront is the perfect place to restore inner balance after a hectic work week. Although I was unable to catch all the entertainment events going over the past few days in Toronto, overall it was a great weekend.

You’ve seen the Expedia.com commercials with the couple in the beachside bungalow with mosquito nets… and the thought of going on vacation to stay in a tent gives you the creepy crawlies already. Not to worry, you won’t need a sleeping bag and a bottle of Off! for this exotic vacation. When was the last time you stayed in an air-conditioned, 790 square-foot tent with wooden floors, embroidered interior canopies, private gardens, outside deck for sunbathing, king size four-poster bed, freestanding rolltop bath and separate shower? And just to make sure you don’t feel like you’re “roughing it,” your tent comes with a DVD player and minibar.

It’s seems contradictory that the words “luxury” be used to describe a tent but at the Oberoi Vanyavilas, located between the Aravali and the Vindhya mountain ranges in South-Eastern Rajasthan, India, the concept is far from novel. Nestled among 20 acres of landscaped gardens, lemon and mango trees, and lakes and fountains, are 25 tents, bordering on one of the most extraordinary wildlife reserves in the world, Ranthambore National Park and Tiger Reserve, which is home to the majestic Indian tiger, as well as deer, leopard, and crocodile.

Now, before you think that this is an isolated retreat, consider the fine dining options and extensive spa services available. In the Dining Room and Inner Courtyard, Executive Chef Saurav Banerjee and Indian Master Chef Arjun Singh Yadava present an impressive spread of Western, Thai and Indian cuisine from a revolving menu. The exquisitely decorated restaurant features hand painted frescoes of flowers and animals by the celebrated miniaturist Mohan Singh Kumawat. Outside is the walled terrace of the Inner Courtyard which is lit at night by a massive log fire (camp fire songs optional).

As with any quality resort, there is a spa, where you’ll find steam rooms, showers and private therapy suites and a long menu of spa treatments, massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. Try the stimulating Indian Spice Wrap and a delicious Orange Wrap. All the massage and aromatherapy treatments are aimed at relieving stress and promoting a deep sense of relaxation and wellbeing. And for fitness buffs who can’t miss a workout, there is an exercycle, rowing machine, steppers and a treadmill, as well as an outdoor heated pool.

The reality of traveling is that it is quite expensive relative to most people’s incomes. Unless you’re fairly well-off, you won’t be able to travel regularly throughout your life until you master some discount travel techniques. The art of discount travel is more then simply one quick trick, it is an overall approach that you can, and should, apply to every element of your trip. For example, you should explore charter flights and last minute deals, etc. to get the cheapest possible airfare. Once you arrive in a foreign country, you should meet some locals and establish where the cheap places to eat and stay are. Discount travel involves a lot of small things that when applied together result in big savings, and allow even those on moderate budgets to travel regularly and enjoyably.

An important concept to get used to if you want your money to last while you are traveling in a foreign country is that of bargaining. In most foreign countries, and especially those of the second world, barging plays a big part in everyday life, and you will find yourself continually overspending if you don’t participate in it.

Most North Americans are terrible at bargaining, which is not at all their fault: bargaining simply does not play much of a role in our everyday transactions, and except for large purchases like buying a car, and maybe to a lesser extent a house, most of us aren’t used to it - we certainly aren’t used to haggling over small items.

The first thing to understand - and a great discount travel technique - is that in the second world, everything is negotiable, and usually very heavily negotiable. If you start to bargaining, you’ll soon see that the type of bargaining that goes on in other parts of the world is very different from the North American style: people often start with figures that are double or more their desired amount.

The first step in bargaining is to not be in any kind of rush to get in a taxi, or in a hotel room, or to purchase your item. Take the time to ask around, and if you can, find some locals who will (hopefully) give you an idea of a good price. The second thing to keep in mind is you have to be willing to walk away, or at least good at pretending that you’re willing to walk away. Oftentimes you’ll find that by simply showing a lack of interest and willingness to avoid the transaction the price will be lowered, without any need for specific bargaining on your part.

Once you get the hang of bargaining you’ll find it rather easy, and in some cases fun. The main thing to keep in mind when you’re in a foreign land is that your status as a North American will usually label you as rich to locals, even if it doesn’t seem that way to you. If you don’t want to get charged double - or more - for every single thing you do while traveling you’ll have to get used to the idea of bargaining - a key component in an overall strategy towards discount travel.

Disney Cruise Line is owned by The Walt Disney Company and headquartered in Celebration, Florida. The business is run by President Tom McAlpin as part of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts division.

It operates two cruise ships, the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, along with Castaway Cay, a private island in the Bahamas designed as an exclusive port of call for Disney’s ships.

The Disney Magic began operation July 30, 1998. The Disney Wonder began operation August 15, 1999. The ships each contain 875 staterooms [1] and are virtually identical in their design, with a few variations in restaurants and entertainment venues. Both contain areas designed exclusively for various age groups, including toddlers, young children, teens, and adults.

They are the first in the industry to be designed and built from the keel up as family cruise liners, with the goal of accommodating parents and children. Unlike most ships of their type, they do not include casinos. In October 2006, additional family amenities were added to the Disney Wonder including features specifically geared toward toddlers, making the ship even more suitable for families with young children.

Disney Cruise Line was created in 1995 when the company commissioned its two ships at Fincantieri in Italy, ending an arrangement with Premier Cruises for the maritime segment of its vacation packages.

A typical Bahamas Cruise may last about 48 hours. This generally could takes passengers from travel points such as Miami, Florida to the Nassau Port in the Bahamas. Sometimes these cruises make more than one stop and sometimes they just go en route. Several accommodations are made for Bahamas cruises. For instance, some cruise lines will offer services to deaf people to help them communicate and get around on the ship. Sometimes all-inclusive day excursions are scheduled as well. These types of trips include one or stops to different sections of Bahamas Islands, such as Paradise Island or Gable Beach. Sometimes trips to the Bahamas are also make stops to other Islands.

Brief Overview Of Bahamas Ships
One person who sailed to the Bahamas really enjoyed the time on the Fantasy Cruise (by Carnival). The rooms were of the right size-more than adequate. Furthermore, the variety of foods where enjoyed, such as sushi, regular snacks, and other types of ethnic cuisine. This ship also seemed to please in the restaurant service department as well. Also, the live entertainment aboard this ship was pleasing enough for the passengers as well. Another plus is that this ship provides plenty to do for children as well. This cruise ship is not perfect, and it is not considered luxurious. It is recommended for those who do not mind the relaxed informal atmosphere. Other types of cruises that are sailed to the Bahamas include the Mirage I which was very dirty with beer and cigarette butts all over the vessel. Furthermore this ship was an hour and a half behind schedule, and the wait staff was very rude, according to some passengers. This particular ship is serviced by a company called Ocean club cruises.

The type of experience one has does not need to be perfect for most people’s standards. Usually the best experience is offered by ships that offer friendly service, and a variety of amenities. This Mirage I boat was not among the ones recommended. Another ship from the Disney Cruise Lines has also sailed the Bahamas. This ship had some programs in place for the kids. That is a plus. However, one person’s experience is that some of the kid’s workers were rude. That person would rather sale on the Royal Caribbean next time.

How To Reduce Cruise Ship Disappointment
In order to decrease the chance that you will be disappointed with your Bahamas cruise you can do some quick research. You can start out be reading the line reviews by different people who have sailed the same ships and the same waters that you intend to possibly use.
